Failure to thrive

About a month ago, Josiah was labeled as a failure to thrive...meaning he's not growing like he should be.  Considering the fact that he's not even on the growth chart, it's not an unexpected diagnosis.  

However, it did create in me a rise of motherly protectiveness.  After the initial shock and general discouragement, the stubbornness ingrained in me from my mom's side of the family took over, and I declared, "Not on my watch." 

How much exactly are you wanting me to grow, mom?

I mean, let's be reasonable....

Just wait...I'll be bigger than Daddy soon!

Food, glorious, food! Fine dining and....

In the attempt to provide a balanced diet for Josiah, we've explored quite a few options.  

Josiah devours sweet potatoes and anything mixed in with them.  

If you want to see an eruption, try giving him bananas.  

Avocados are tolerated when mixed with something else. 

Of course, the first time for anything you'll get a look of sudden suspicion and doubt of trustworthiness. 

Time to eat, mom?!

Daniel has been reading The Hobbit out-loud to us.  Josiah decided to join right in.
