Saturday morning panacakes.

Aunt Carol taught Josiah how to play pat-a-cake.  When I asked him one Saturday morning if he wanted a pancake, he began showing his favor with a roll-it-up, pat-it-up, and throw it in the pan movement.
We complied.

Siah's size

Completely devoured!

Even got a blueberry on one.

Breakfast with Siah

Let's see.....what should I make today?
Oh, hi, Mom!  Dad said I could make you breakfast in bed!

You're not supposed to be up yet!

And Dad said HE would clean up my mess!

So, you want to taste it?  I call it Siah's Specialty.

Colorado or Bust!

With this gorgeous cold weather, we thought it time to take stock of our warm outerwear.
 Siah tried things on too...
What do you mean it's not time yet?  Dad said I could help drive.

Course, I don't know the way....

But Daddy has told me all about Colorado.

About the mountains, the snow, the beautiful trees, the bears....

Mom....the bears won't eat me, right?

An unusual nap

Siah had a rough afternoon.  His nap was even more rough.
Consequently, I broke the number one rule my mom gave me when he was born.
"Don't do anything that you don't want to become a habit."
Instead, I let him fall asleep in my arms, and then proceeded to fall asleep next to him on a pallet on the floor.
I woke before him and crept out, leaving him to sleep for another hour. Phew.
I knew he was awake when I heard the patter of his hands slapping the floor as he crawled to the door.
Happy baby wondering how in the world he ended up sleeping on the floor!
Mom! I wasn't in my crib when I woke up!

A story from Daddy...

When Daddy is in charge of entertainment, one never knows what sort of things will happen.  Sometimes multi-colored rings become flying saucers and bounce off the doors.  Other times, veggie puppets warn about the dangers of being eaten.  And still other times, the wood floors become bowling alleys for anything that could possibly roll.
My favorite times though, are when the animals come alive.  In this picture, these friends were on an adventure in the jungle together.  It was a tragic day when the quicksand threatened to break up the fellowship.  Luckily, they all had life-preservers.
I don't know if that's really accurate.  Can a flotation device really save someone from quicksand?
It did these happy friends.

Jack tries to help

Josiah: What are we doing, Jack?
Jack: Uh, good question.
Jack: Oh, I get it.  It's a photo shoot.
Josiah: Huh.

Jack: Cheese!!
Josiah: No, I think it's one of those pumpkin things...

Jack: No, Siah. You're supposed to look at the camera and put a smile on your face. Then they take the picture and we're done.
Josiah: I'd rather play with the hay.

Jack: No, Siah.  That's not the way it works.  Let go of me.

Jack: And just look at the camera!! Sooner you do the sooner we are...

Jack: Huh.  Now that you mention it.  That hay is kinda cool....

Some days you just gotta roll with it...

Mom!  Just wait I tell you about this crazy dream I had....

It was wild...

What's that?  My hair is too?

Crazy!!

I'm Mama's helper

Every Monday we empty out our cupboards for the exterminators to come get our bugs.  Siah wanted in on the action....

Busy at work....and it's only 7:30 in the morning!

Mom!! You caught me...

What?!?  We're supposed to empty everything?  Whoo hoo!

You meant everything, right?

That was great, Mama.  What's for breakfast?

A day at the farm

The first day of October called for excitement and adventure! So, off we went to discover the previously unknown world of....the farm!
Saturday morning music with Daddy.  Much better than cartoons!

First we traveled, but not by camel, down to Humbolt for their Bibleista Parade.

They had some great exotic animals in their petting zoo.

This is my Uncle Slim.  He's the best.

I tried to explain to London this really cool handshake, but he was eyeing the funnel cake instead.

My first parade.  The drums were the coolest.

This is at the FARM!!  We had a tractor ride and I discovered hay.

We rode out to the pumpkin patch.  I found one just my size!
Whoa!  That's a ton of hay!

Gear shift.  Got it.  I'm ready to drive us back!

Uh, guys?  This wheel is a bit big...

Okay, maybe I can drive back next time.
