Hide and go seek....

Shh, Mama.  I'm hiding.

You haven't seen Daddy, have you?

I don't think he can find me!

Isn't this a great hiding spot?

How long do you think I'll have to wait.....

Can you bring me a cookie?!?

GIC retreat

At a weekend retreat for GIC, Daniel and I led the team games.  I was quite impressed with how everyone got into them.  Made for some hilarious memories!

Rock, paper, scissors!!

Got pretty competitive!
Siah just watched...

Romanian capture the flag....or is it a Kung Fu stand-off?

The missionary stare-down...

Loving being outside!!

Daddy taught Siah how to play Romanian capture the flag too...

A blog post for Meli

A wind sprang high in the west like a wave of unreasonable happiness and tore eastward across England, trailing with it the frosty scent of forests and the cold intoxication of the sea. ...But everywhere it bore drama into undramatic lives, and carried the trump of crisis across the world. Many a harassed mother in a mean backyard had looked at five dwarfish shirts on the clothes-line as at some small sick tragedy; it was as if she had hanged her five children. The wind came and they were full and kicking as if five fat imps had sprung into them; and far down in her oppressed subconsciousness she half remembered those coarse comedies of her fathers when the elves still dwelt in the homes of men....

JiJi Fun...

We took advantage of a week long break from school to head out to JiJi, the city where Daniel lived and taught back in 2004.  I was super impressed with everything that he remembered as he showed me his schools, home, and favorite haunts.  We took a long scooter ride out to the countryside around JiJi.  Amazing views.
We even found the director of the school where Daniel taught.  He's now retired and owns a bed and breakfast, so we stayed at his place and had dinner with him on Thursday night.
Fun times going down memory lane with Daniel.

First train trip!  A two hour ride from Taichung. Made friends with the girl with the crackers.

Our stop!

This is where we are!

Siah fell asleep every time we went on the scooter for more than five minutes.  I got quite the weight-lifting workout this trip!

Maybe not the most comfy for him, but he doesn't seem to mind.

Mom?  Can I take baths like this at home too?

Our beautiful room at the bed and breakfast.

Gorgeous flowers in the midst of JiJi

Stretch break from the scooter!

Can't get over the landscape here!

What a trooper. Wish Daniel could have carried him more...:)

Siah loves how cute Taiwan is....

A train his size!  He would smile if there weren't so many cameras...

Or so many strangers....

Get this boy behind a wheel and he's a happy camper.  Even if the vehicle never moves.
Swing outside Amy's restaurant.

What a great dad!  These huge things 'walked' around the courtyard.

And they were bigger than Siah.

Two steering wheels?  Oh, decisions!!!!

At the station waiting to head back home.

Konked out.....

But not for too long....adventures are to be had!

Sun Moon Lake

Our trip to JiJi also included gorgeous sites of Sun Moon Lake.
Such a beautiful place.
Even in the rain.
Lunch time!
Siah is suspicious that the camera is going to do anything without someone behind it....

Sharing a snack...

Our little explorer....

The biggest temple we've seen yet.  So many stairs!

Looking down from the top of all those stairs...

I love my family.

Siah loved exploring all over the place.

Baby loved it too....

Pretty impressed with what was behind this fence....

Aren't you?

Just so much room to roam.  We really don't let him just run free all the time....

Filling up the tank.

Hanging out with all the people.  Getting photographed all the time.  Some outright.  Some slightly hidden.
Loved the afternoon we spent here.  Siah slept all the way back.
Might make this a must see if anyone comes to visit!
